About the HIV/AIDS Hotline
Roswell Park has two Hotlines that are devoted to HIV/AIDS information. The New York State HIV Counseling Hotline and the AIDS Tape Library are accessible, toll-free, anywhere in the New York State.
The HIV Counseling Hotline ( 1 - 800 - 872 - 2777 )
- Over 75,000 people have used our service since June of 1987. Trained counselors can answer questions regarding HIV or AIDS, assess risk, and discuss prevention.
- The HIV Counseling Hotline is open from 4pm to 8pm M-F and 10am-6pm Sat and Sun.
The AIDS Tape Library (1 - 800 - 541 - AIDS)
- Has received over 180,000 calls since 1987
- The Tape Library is open from 8am to 8pm M-F and 10am-6pm Sat-Sun.
- The AIDS Tape Information Service is a library of tape recorded messages on HIV Infection and AIDS, which may be heard via the telephone, toll-free, anywhere in New York State.
In addition both telephone lines can offer a wide variety of referrals. These referrals include NYS free and anonymous HIV testing; confidential testing sites; Partner Notification Assistant Program (PNAP); The AIDS Community Service Programs and other more Specific services.
