Annual BMT Clinic

The RPCI Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) program has developed an annual clinic for patients who have undergone blood or marrow transplantation. This clinic will allow for an important follow-up of patients who often have unique and specialized needs following BMT.

Overview

The BMT Clinic consists of a dedicated BMT clinical team consisting of physicians, dentists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, nurses and social workers who can offer clinical advice and recommendations to BMT patients who often have unique and specialized needs.

Clinic Benefits

In addition to offering clinical recommendations, the BMT Clinic can recommend specialty referrals including:

• Gastrointestinal
• Renal
• Pulmonary
• Dermatologic

Cost – The cost will be that of a regular clinic visit.

We are inviting patients who received a transplant to be seen annually in the BMT Clinic; for preventative measures such as:

• Tracking of re-immunizations for patients who have undergone allogeneic BMT
• Monitoring patients receiving glucocorticoid therapy who are at high risk for premature osteoporosis.
• Monitoring BMT patients for dental problems due to higher risk post BMT. Our dental department will offer recommendations for long-term dental care
