Lisa joined the staff of Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) in 1991, as a staff nurse working with leukemia and soft tissue cancers. As a staff nurse she moved to theHematology/oncology Unit where autologous bone marrow transplants were performed and eventually to the operating room and ambulatory surgical center. In 2006 Lisa joined the Upper & Lower GI team as the Nurse Manager. She is currently the Nurse Manager for the UGI and LGI Clinics.
Lisa earned her nursing degree (AASN) from Trocaire College in 1991, and completed her BSN at Daemen College in 2007. She is currently in active pursuit of her MSN in Executive Leadership at Daemen College.
Lisa’s passion is in encouraging other nurses to pursue formal education as well as certification. She is a strong advocate for nurses and she recognizes the important services that they provide.
Along with being a participant of many committees and councils at RPCI, Lisa is a member of the national Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and is a board member for the Western New York ONS Chapter.
Lisa has authored and co-authored abstracts titled “Increasing Throughput Efficiency From a Surgical Oncology Outpatient Care Environment to Discharge From an Inpatient Care Setting,” which was presented at the National Oncology Nurses Congress in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2007. She also co-authored a publication entitled, “The Educational Needs of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters for Patients & Caregivers.” This publication serves as a Patient Information guide for patients at RPCI.
Lisa and colleagues also received copyright privileges in 2007 for their research completed at RPCI, studying the educational needs of peripherally inserted central catheters for patients and caregivers.
