Dr. Gary Yang joined the staff of Roswell Park Cancer Institute as a Staff Physician in the Department of Radiation Medicine & faculty in the Department of Molecular & Cellular Biophysics. He came to Roswell Park from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. Dr. Yang earned his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School, IL, and completed his internship at Yale University, New Haven, CT, followed by residency training at Emory University, Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Yang's clinical effort has been directed toward the design and development of oncology trials using critical molecular biomarker profiling of individual tumors. Additional research activities have encompassed basic science studies on the effects of potential tumor vaccines on immunomodulation in cancer. His goal is to facilitate the development of an individualized diagnosis and treatment plan for each patient.

Dr. Yang has authored or co-authored more than 50 journal publications, book chapters and abstracts. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.
