Dr. Nestor R. Rigual joined the staff of Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) in 2000, as Attending Surgeon, Division of Head & Neck/Section of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Surgery. He is physician leader of the Head and Neck Center at RPCI.

He earned his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, Oklahoma City, OK, in 1980. Dr. Rigual completed residency training in general surgery (1983)at the University of Oklahoma Teaching Hospitals, Oklahoma City, OK (1983), and in Otolaryngology at the University at Buffalo (UB) School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (1986). He also completed a fellowship in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery at the University of Oklahoma Teaching Hospitals, Oklahoma City, OK (1991).

Dr. Rigual is licensed by New York State, Oklahoma, and Hawaii and is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners (1981) and the American Board of Otolaryngology (1986). He also is Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences.

Dr. Rigual's research interests focus on staging for carcinoma of the buccal mucosa and endocrine surgery.

Dr. Rigual is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Otolaryngology, American Head and Neck Society, Eastern Great Lakes Head & Neck Oncology Association and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Rigual has authored or co-authored several journal publications, book chapters and abstracts, and lectures in his specialty.
