Dr. Boris W. Kuvshinoff, II, is an Associate Professor of Oncology in the Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Department of Surgical Oncology, at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Dr. Kuvshinoff also serves as the Surgical Director of the RPCI Operating Rooms and is a member of the Quality Improvement Committee. He earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland (1986); completed residency training in the Department of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati Hospital, OH (1993); and then a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, NY, NY, (1995). Dr. Kuvshinoff received an MBA focused on Leadership in Healthcare from Yale University in 2008.
Dr. Kuvshinoff is licensed in New York State and is board-certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He also serves as Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and is recognized in the Best Doctors® in America database.
Dr. Kuvshinoff’s clinical and research interests include laparoscopic liver resection and radiofrequency ablation, as well as multidisciplinary treatment of hepatobiliary, pancreatic gastric, and neuroendocrine tumors.
Dr. Kuvshinoff is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Hepatopancreatobiliary Association, and the American College of Physicians Executives. Dr. Kuvshinoff is also a member of the Pancreas Cancer Guidelines Committee of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 journal publications, book chapters and abstracts.
