Helena Hwang, MD, joined Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) as a staff physician in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. She specializes the pathology of breast cancer.
Dr. Hwang completed fellowship training in Breast Pathology (2007) and residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (2006) at Northwestern University. She also completed an internship in Internal Medicine (2004) at the University of New Mexico and trained in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (2002) at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Hwang earned her medical degree (2000) from the University of Southern California School of Medicine.
Dr. Hwang is a member of the College of American Pathologists, American Society for Clinical Pathology and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine comprises of five divisions including Surgical Pathology, the Clinical Laboratory and several specialty labs, which all focus on the accurate diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients.
