Francisco J. Hernandez-Ilizaliturri, MD, joined the staff of Roswell Park Cancer Institute in 2003, as an Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, and Physician Scientist in the Department of Immunology.
Dr. Hernandez-Ilizaliturri earned his medical degree from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudio Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico, in 1995. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 1999 and fellowship training in the departments of Medicine and Immunology at RPCI in 2002. He is licensed by New York State and is board-certified in Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Hernandez-Ilizaliturri's research interests include the study the mechanisms associated with resistance to monoclonal antibodies in lymphoma patients and developing new strategies to enhance the activity of therapies such as Rituximab and other monoclonal antibodies. He is a member of the American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association for Cancer Research, American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Hernandez-Ilizaliturri has authored or co-authored more than 25 journal publications, book chapters and abstracts.
