Todd Demmy, MD, joined the faculty at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in 2002 as Clinical Chair of Thoracic Surgery, Department of Surgery.
Dr. Demmy earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1983 and his bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1981. He completed residencies in general surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas in 1988 and in cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1991.
Dr. Demmy is board certified by the American Board of Surgery, The American Board of Thoracic Surgery and has Certification of Added Qualifications in Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery. He has been honored as one of America’s Top Doctors, Who’s Who in the World, and 1998 Outstanding Young Man of America.
Dr. Demmy’s research interests include minimally invasive thoracic surgery and regional lung chemotherapy.
Dr. Demmy is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and Southern Thoracic Surgical Association, and Michael DeBakey International Surgical Society . He is a member of the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery, the American Association of Thoracic Surgery, Society of University Surgeons, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Dr. Demmy has published over 180 journal articles, book chapters and abstracts.
