Dr. Helen H. Cappuccino joined the staff of Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) in 2000, as Attending Surgeon, Division of Breast Surgery, Department of Surgery. She earned her medical degree at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences in 1988, and completed residency training in General Surgery at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, NJ, in 1993. Dr. Cappuccino is licensed by New York State and is certified by the American Board of Surgery (1996). She also is Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Cappuccino is a clinical practitioner who conducts patient-based research, including the Study of Tamoxifen and Raloxifene and the effectiveness of carotid endarterectomies.
Dr. Cappuccino is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, Association of Women Surgeons, Medical Society of the State of New York, and Niagara County Medical Society. Currently, she is President of the Western New York Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Cappuccino has authored or co-authored several journal publications and abstracts.
