Dr. Nikolaos Almyroudis, MD, joined the staff of Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) in 2004, as a Staff Physician in the Division of Infectious Disease, Department of Medicine.
Dr. Almyroudis earned his medical degree in 1992 from the Medical School of the National University of Athens, Greece, and completed residencies in Internal Medicine at Saint Savvas Oncology Hospital (with a subspecialty in Oncology), Athens, Greece, in 1997 and at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Health System – McKeesport Hospital in 2000. He completed fellowships in infectious diseases and tropical medicine at the University of South Florida in 2002 and in Infectious Diseases in patients with malignancies and stem cell transplant recipients at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, in 2004.
Dr. Almyroudis is board certified in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Almyroudis’s research interests include infections in allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients, fungal infections and infections caused by resistant bacteria in patients with malignancies.
Dr. Almyroudis is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Almyroudis has authored or co-authored several journal articles, abstracts and book chapters.
