Women’s and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo
Dr. Alberico joined Roswell Park after his two-year Fellowship in Neuroradiology in the Harvard System, Massachusetts General Hospital. His Fellowship sub-specialty was Pediatric Neuroradiology, Boston Childrens’ Hospital.
Dr. Alberico’s Neuroradiology service is comprehensive, equipped to deal with all adult and pediatric imaging studies of the central nervous system, skull base, head and neck, spinal cord, bony spine, and brachial plexus. Furthermore, the section routinely performs guided biopsies of lesions involving the skull base, head and neck, and bony spine, as well as both vertebroplasties and kyphoplasties. Unique to this area, the section will accommodate requests for intrathecal chemotherapy on anatomically-difficult patients.
A specialty of Dr. Alberico’s section is CT- and MR-angiography; many of these studies are based upon algorithms that he devised as a radiology resident. His research in CT-based angiography has been widely published and acclaimed. He is a member of the Radiology Department’s Cardiac Imaging Group.
Dr. Alberico is a sought-after teacher of medical students and Fellows and a full co-author of the department’s book, Cost-Effective Diagnostic Imaging: The Clinicians’ Guide, fourth edition, Mosby/Elsevier, 2006.
