Richard (Rick) D. Paris joined the administration of Roswell Park Cancer Institute in 2003 as Vice President for Human Resources. He came to RPCI after 11 years with the Children's National Medical Center, Inc., Washington, DC, where he served as Vice President for Human Resources.
Mr. Paris develops policy and direct human resource activities for the Institute's Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) and Health Research Incorporated (HRI) employees. He oversees employment and examination services, transactions and employee benefits, training and development, the Office of Employee Relations and the classification and compensation for HRI employees. He also interacts with RPCI's executive administration in formulating personnel polices and procedures that support the Institute's mission of clinical care, education, prevention and research and ensures consistency with laws, rules, regulations and contractual obligations.
Mr. Paris earned his Masters of Science in Urban Planning in 1973 from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He also has served as Director of Operations (1980-1982) for International Homemakers, Brookline, MA; Employment and Employee Relations Manager (1982-1984) for Charles D. Burnes Co., Inc. Boston, MA; Vice-President and Human Resources Manager (1984-1987) at BayBank Norfolk County Trust, Dedham, MA; and Director of Human Resources (1987-1991) at New England Medical Center Hospitals, Inc., Boston, MA.
