Brian T. Braun, LCSW-R, is the Director of Patient Care in the Patient Care Department at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI). Mr. Braun earned a master's degree in Social Work from the University at Buffalo in 1996 and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy and Theology from SUNY Albany (1989).
As Director of Patient Relations, Mr. Braun, along with his two co-directors, is responsible for inpatient and outpatient clinical operations. Mr. Braun also directs the Institute's Patient Advocacy Program. The patient advocates work with patients and staff to resolve concerns or complaints and to facilitate more effective communication among the patients, their families and the RPCI caregiving team. He is also a resource for patients and staff in RPCI's continuing effort to provide the best experience possible for patients and those caring for them. He represents patient interests on Institute committees including the Institutional Review Board, Ethics Committee, Quality Improvement Committee and Patient Safety Committee.
Mr. Braun previously served as a medical social worker and patient advocate at RPCI. Prior to that he was a social worker for Wyndham Lawn Home for Children and Niagara Hospice.
