Walker Appointed Executive Vice President at Roswell Park
BUFFALO, NY – Jeff A. Walker has been appointed Executive Vice President at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI). Mr. Walker has served as Associate Institute Director for Administration since April 2007.
Mr. Walker will continue to serve as a close advisor to Donald L. Trump, MD, FACP, President & CEO of RPCI and is currently responsible for the development, direction and operation of the Institute including administrative, scientific and clinical departments, all mission area programs and oversight of strategic planning initiatives. He also provides leadership and direction to clinical and nursing administration, corporate projects and initiatives, fiscal and corporate counsel operations.
“With more than 10 years experience as a cancer center executive administrator, I value Mr. Walker’s independent and strategic advice,” said Dr. Trump. “This appointment formalizes his role and recognizes his important contributions to the strategic vision and administrative operations at Roswell Park."
Mr. Walker has held senior administrative leadership positions at two nationally designated comprehensive cancer centers. At the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, he served as Associate Director of Administration and was responsible for finance and operations. During his time at the University of Pittsburgh, Mr. Walker served as Assistant Director of Clinical Investigations and Administrative Director for the Division of Hematology/Oncology. He also functioned as Vice President of Finance for ProlX Pharmaceutics, a biotech start-up company based in Tucson, AZ.
Mr. Walker earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Pennsylvania State University in 1986 and a masters of business administration degree from University of Pittsburgh in 1990. He has served on the finance and investment committee of the Association of American Cancer Institutes, and is a member of the Alliance of Dedicated Cancer Centers, American College of Healthcare Executives and the Medical Group Management Association.
Roswell Park Cancer Institute, founded in 1898, is the nation’s first cancer research, treatment and education center.
