Two Physicians Join Roswell Park Cancer Institute Faculty

BUFFALO, NY − Wen Wee Ma, MBBS, and Grace K. Dy, MD, have been appointed attending physicians in the expanding drug development program in the Department of Medicine at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI).
Dr. Ma will provide treatment to patients with gastrointestinal cancers in addition to his work in phase I clinical trails. He comes to RPCI from the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins where he completed fellowship training in medical oncology and hematology and earned a Certificate in the Science of Clinical Investigation from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Dr. Ma earned his medical degree from the University of Sydney, Australia (1999), and graduated summa cum laude. He did his early medical training in Singapore and completed his internal medical residency training at John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Maryland (2004). Dr. Ma is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology.
Dr. Ma’s research interests focus on developing novel therapies for pancreatic cancers and phase I clinical trials. His honors include an American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award and American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Scholar-in-Training Award. He is a member of American College of Physicians and American Society of Clinical Oncology, and an associate member of the AACR.
Dr. Dy will provide treatment to patients with lung cancer in addition to her work in phase I clinical trials. She earned her medical degree at The University of Santo Tomas, Philippines (1998). She completed residency training in Internal Medicine (2003) and a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology (2007) at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine where she was singled out from all fellows in the department of medicine for honors as the best oncology and clinical research fellow. Dr. Dy is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. Dr. Dy was featured by CR Magazine, an AACR publication, as one of five promising young clinician-scientists nationwide.
Dr. Dy’s research interests focus on Phase I clinical trials and novel targets for lung cancer therapy. She is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and an associate member of AACR. Dr. Dy is a recipient of the 2007 fellowship award from the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer and a 2008 National Comprehensive Cancer Network correlative sciences grant.
