Roswell Park Cancer Institute Awarded 1.6 Million in Grants
BUFFALO, NY – National Institutes of Health grants totaling $1,639,344 have been awarded to six members of the Roswell Park Cancer Institute faculty.
- Khushi Matta, PhD, Department of Cancer Biology, a $378,545 grant for the “Systematic Study of Three Types of Glycosyltransferases.”
- Arthur Michalek, PhD, Department of Educational Affairs, a $206,407 grant to evaluate the “Roswell Park Research Experience Program.”
- Kunle Odunsi, MD, PhD, Department of Surgical Oncology, a $183,263 grant for “Ovarian Cancer Detection Using H-NMR_Based Metabonomics.”
- Lakshmi Pendyala, PhD, Department of Medicine, a $310,391 grant to study “Polyamine Catabolism in Platinum Drug Action.”
- Richard T. Swank, PhD, Department of Molecular & Cellular Biology, a $326,509 grant to investigate "Molecular Analyses of Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome Genes.”
- Yuesheng Zhang, MD, PhD, Department of Cancer Prevention & Population Sciences, a grant for $234,229 to study the “Prevention of Bladder Cancer with Broccoli Sprouts.”
