Roswell Park Awarded American Cancer Society Grant: Dec-23-2005 — The American Cancer Society (ACS) has awarded Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) a $240,000 Institutional Research Grant to support novel research projects of junior faculty at RPCI.
Chernobyl Study Finds No Evidence of Increased Risk of Childhood Leukemia: Nov-16-2005 — The first reported population-based study of childhood leukemia among persons exposed to radiation following the explosion of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant April 26, 1986, has uncovered “no convincing evidence” of an increased risk of childhood leukemia among participants.
Roswell Park to host International Selenium Workshop: Oct-07-2005 — Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) will host an International Selenium Workshop, October 14 – 15, Research Studies Center, RPCI, Elm & Carlton Street, Buffalo, NY. Registration begins Friday at 8 am.

Fever-Range Thermal Stress Study Presented at Era of Hope Meeting: Jun-08-2005 — Researchers from the Department of Immunology, RPCI, will present the results of a study titled, “Fever-Range Thermal Stress Promotes Expression of Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-1 in Tumor Vessels Via an Interleukin-6 Trans-signaling Mechanism."
Dr. Ben Seon to Present Angiogenesis Study at Era of Hope Meeting: Jun-08-2005 — Ben Seon, PhD, Immunology, RPCI, will present the results of a study titled, “Anti-Angiogenic and Vascular Targeting Therapy of Breast Cancer by Targeting Endoglin (CD105) of Tumor Vasculature,” at the Fourth Annual Era of Hope meeting.
