RPCI Appoints Associate Director for Technology Transfer and Commercial Development
BUFFALO, NY – Edward Tirpak, Esq. has been appointed Associate Director of Technology and Commercial Development at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI).
Mr. Tirpak will be responsible for assisting with the acquisition of patents and licenses for technologies developed at RPCI, analyzing market demand, developing business models and advising research faculty as to the marketability of intellectual property.
Mr. Tirpak comes to RPCI from the University at Buffalo (UB) Office of Science, Technology Transfer and Economic Outreach, where he managed the Intellectual Property Group within the Intellectual Property Division. He also chaired the Intellectual Property Committee during the formation of UB’s Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences and served as an adjunct professor in the UB Schools of Law and Management and assisted in the development of UB Management School’s Biotechnology Management Option.
Mr. Tirpak graduated from the UB Law School in 1992 and is a patent attorney licensed in New York and North Carolina.
