Roswell Park President Elected to Association of American Cancer Institute Board

BUFFALO, NY – Donald Trump, MD, FACP, President and CEO at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI), has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Association of American Cancer Institutes (AACI).
Dr. Trump joins a roster of distinguished oncology leaders recently elected to the eight-member board for a two-year term beginning in October 2007. Additional new board members are Timothy J. Eberlein, MD, FACS, Siteman Cancer Center; Craig B. Thompson, MD, Abramson Cancer Center; and Cheryl L. Willman, MD, University of New Mexico Cancer Center. In addition, Michael A. Caligiuri, MD, The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, was elected AACI’s Vice President and President-elect.
AACI Executive Director Barbara Duffy Stewart, MPH, noted, “Dr. Trump is an outstanding clinician and cancer researcher. I have enjoyed working with him in different capacities in the past and look forward to his leadership and contributions to AACI as a member of the Board of Directors.”
AACI board members provide advice and guidance to the AACI officers and executive director in setting the organization’s priorities and goals and in designing strategies to meet those goals; direct AACI activities that impact programming for the nation’s cancer centers; and develop organizational policies and procedures.
The AACI is dedicated to promoting the common interests of the nation's leading academic cancer centers that are focused on the eradication of cancer through a comprehensive and multidisciplinary program of cancer research, treatment, patient care, prevention, education and community outreach.
Dr. Trump was appointed President & CEO of RPCI on April 1, 2007 and recently served as Senior Vice President for Clinical Research and Chair of the Department of Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, with subspecialty boards in Medical Oncology, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Trump is a member of many professional organizations and scientific societies; has authored or co-authored more than 400 journal publications, book chapters and abstracts; and focuses his research in vitamin D-based cancer prevention and treatments.
