Lajos Balogh, PhD, to Serve American Academy of Nanomedicine Board

BUFFALO, NY – Lajos P. Balogh, PhD, Director of Nanotechnology Research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI), has been selected to serve as a member of the Board of the Directors for the American Academy of Nanomedicine (AANM).
The AANM is a non-profit organization designed to provide a forum to exchange ideas, communicate new findings, and encourage collaboration among the diverse disciplines represented in nanomedicine and provides its members with access to the latest information in research and clinical applications through the society’s quarterly, peer-reviewed journal, Nanomedicine: Nanotechnology, Biology, and Medicine.
The AANM Board of Directors is responsible for the development, monitoring and evaluating programs which further the mission and goals of the organization and its fiscal oversight and strategic direction.
Dr. Balogh is a member of the American Chemical Society, the Materials Research Society, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Nanotechnology Panel at the American National Standards Institute. He provides expert advice for the Networks of Centres of Excellence of Canada and the United States-Israel Bi-national Science Foundation.
Dr. Balogh's research involves conceptualization, synthesis, characterization and utilization of polymers, dendrimers, organic/inorganic hybrid nanomaterials and engineered nanostructures for medical and materials applications with a focus on cancer imaging and treatment.
