Roswell Park Pastoral Care Division Appoints Chaplain
BUFFALO, NY – Sara Jane Schultz has been appointed Chaplain in the Pastoral Care Division, Department of Psychosocial Oncology, at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI).
Ms. Schultz comes to RPCI from Temple Beth Zion, where she served as a family educator since 1983. She earned a bachelor of Fine Arts from the University at Buffalo in 1976; a Masters of Arts in Music Therapy in 1979 from New York University, and a Synagogue Associates Certificate in 2004 from the Hebrew Union College. Ms. Schultz also has served as Spiritual Leader and Pastoral Care Provider at the Weinberg Campus, Jewish Educator and Consultant for the Nursery School at the Jewish Community Center and is currently Adjunct Professor at Canisius College in the Religious Studies Department.
The Pastoral Care Division is an inter-faith department supporting a holistic approach to the treatment of cancer patients that emphasizes the integration of spiritual, emotional, social, psychological and physical care. Working collaboratively with other health care professionals, the Pastoral Care Division provides spiritual care to all patients and families regardless of religious affiliation.
