Working at Roswell Park
Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) is one of the larger employers in Western New York. There are over 2,500 employees at the Institute, including 200 physicians and scientists and over 400 nurses. Today, one-third of the faculty have been at the Institute for five years or less, and 60 percent of the campus is comprised of newly constructed facilities or space that has undergone significant functional and/or infrastructure renovation. The 170,000-square-foot Center for Genetics and Pharmacology is at the "finishing touch" stage and departments are moving in.. A "new Roswell Park" has emerged -- strongly positioned for its second century of leadership in cancer through new facilities, new faculty, new programs, and new strategic directions. As a comprehensive cancer center, RPCI seeks to lead by example in providing a smoke-free environment. Smoking by employees, students, visitors, volunteers and guests is prohibited in all Institute buildings, outside the entrances and in Institute-owned vehicles. The sale of tobacco products within the Institute is strictly prohibited. RPCI also maintains a drug- and alcohol-free workplace. On-the-job use or impairment from the use of alcohol and/or controlled substances is strictly prohibited. Employees will be subject to criminal, civil and disciplinary penalties if they distribute, sell, attempt to sell, possess or purchase controlled substances at the workplace or while performing in a work-related capacity. As a condition of employment, employees must agree to notify the Human Resources Management Department of any criminal drug statute conviction no later than five days after such conviction. Roswell Park Cancer Institute is an M/F/H/V Affirmative Action Employer. |
