Survivor Facts and Figures

There are over 10 million cancer survivors in the United States today. The long-term trend in overall cancer death rates, declining since the early 1990s, continued through 2004 for all races and both sexes combined.
Fewer people died of cancer in 2004 than in 2003, marking the second consecutive year that cancer deaths have declined in the United States, a new American Cancer Society report shows.
