Dedicated to Doreen Mortimer,
Co-Founder of the Bosom Buddies Walk for Roswell
Founded in 1993 as a breast cancer support group, the Bosom Buddies have raised more than $600,000 for the Western New York Breast Resource Center since the first walk in 1995. Last year 500 walkers raised over $70,000.
The Breast Resource Center, created in 1997, assists breast cancer patients and their families as they travel the unfamiliar journey of diagnosis and treatment. It offers a wealth of information and personal support that is available for not only the patient, but also their spouse, siblings, and children, including the youngest members of the family dealing with the treatment of a mother, grandmother, relative or friend. The center, which is free and open to the public, is a place where anyone can find hope.
The Western New York Breast Resource Center is a vital asset to the community. We hope that you will consider participating in the Bosom Buddies Walk for Roswell this year to help ensure the center’s services are available for anyone diagnosed with breast cancer in WNY.
