WHAT: Students at Holy Angels Academy will host a concert by Columbia Records recording artist Teddy Geiger for their efforts collecting over $13,000 in pennies during Kiss 98.5’s High School Spirit 2006 contest, sponsored by Pepsi. Geiger, a Rochester native, has received rave reviews for his first album, Underage Thinking, now in stores. He appeared on the CBS series, Love Monkey, and was a finalist on VH1's New Partridge Family. Clarence High School students came in first place in the contest, raising more than $27,000 for Carly’s Club for Kids & Cancer Research, founded at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The Clarence students enjoyed a concert by Nick Lachey on Monday, June 5th. More than 30 high schools across Western New York participated in this year’s contest.

ABOUT CARLY’S CLUB:
Carly’s Club was founded by eight-year-old brain cancer patient, Carly Collard Cottone, a strong individual dedicated to enhancing the lives of other kids battling cancer. Carly bravely succumbed to her illness in August 2002, but her “kids helping kids” legacy lives on through the work of Carly’s Club—now Roswell Park’s official pediatric child life division under the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation. All funds from High School Spirit and Carly’s Club support breakthroughs in childhood cancer research to find cures, and social support activities to improve the lives of children and families served by Roswell Park and other health care centers across Western New York.
