(BUFFALO, NY) - Make a difference for cancer cures and celebrate survivorship at the combined Roswell Walks and Cancer Survivors Day event, presented by Forbes-Capretto Homes, on Saturday, June 17 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
The event is open to all cancer survivors, as well as people interested in walking to raise funds for breakthrough research offering hope for a cancer-free tomorrow.
The third annual Roswell Walks event will begin at 10:30 am from the beautiful WJK Park & Gardens at Roswell Park for a three-mile route in the surrounding downtown Buffalo area. This scenic route will include a walk through the historic neighborhoods of Buffalo, and through the Buffalo-Niagara Medical Campus.
Walkers will join Roswell Park physicians, researchers, educators, nurses, and staff on over 14 teams to raise funds for specific cancers that have affected their lives.
Cancer Survivors Day festivities will immediately follow the walk starting at 11:30 am, including horse-drawn carriage rides, magicians, dunk the doctor, kids’ activities, lunch, country music, square dancing, pet therapy and health information booths, a theme tray auction, face painting, and much more. Cancer Survivors Day is a celebration of life and is a community awareness event honoring cancer survivors, their families, friends, and all those whose lives have been touched by cancer.
