“Celebration of Hope” To Mark Successful $21 Million Capital Campaign at Roswell Park Cancer Institute
8,403 individuals responded to help build RPCI’s
Center for Genetics & Pharmacology
WHAT: Financial donors—from corporate leaders to individuals from every walk of life—will gather Tuesday evening to celebrate the completion of Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s “Horizons of Hope” capital campaign. The campaign was the first in Roswell Park’s 107-year history. It spanned three years and raised $21 million for RPCI’s new Center for Genetics & Pharmacology, now located at the corner of Virginia and Ellicott Streets in the heart of the Buffalo Life Sciences Complex. The dollars raised, combined with $41 million in previously committed New York State funding, will allow the Center to open in January 2006, magnifying Roswell Park’s ability to collaboratively develop new prevention and anticancer therapies benefiting patients locally and across the world.

- Remarks will be capped by a champagne toast to the spirit of hope RPCI’s new Center offers for tomorrow’s cancer cures.
