Ride for Roswell Pledge Turn-in Party & Expo Will Gear Up Riders & Volunteers for 12th Annual Event!

WHAT: Almost 1,000 riders and volunteers will attend the Pre-Ride Turn-in Party & Expo on Tuesday evening to gear up for the Ride for Roswell happening this Saturday. (More than 4,000 riders are expected to participate in the 2007 Ride for Roswell, presented by Wegmans, Saturday, June 23, at UB’s Baird Point.) Tonight’s event is a celebration for riders with food, entertainment (music by local band, the Jazz Dogs), bike vendors and prizes. Riders will turn in their Ride pledges and will have the chance to get their bikes inspected before the Saturday event. Volunteers will also be present to receive their assignments for Ride day. Even after tonight’s Party & Expo, it’s not too late to make a difference by donating to riders or teams at www.RideforRoswell.org.

ABOUT SATURDAY’S RIDE:
- Last year, 3,200 riders raised a record $1.2 million for lifesaving cancer research and patient care at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. This year, the Ride will look to raise $1.5 million for the fight against cancer.
- As it has every year since it began in 1996, the Ride starts and finishes at picturesque Baird Point on the University at Buffalo’s North Campus.
- The event offers riders a choice of four scenic routes: 9 miles, 20 miles, 33 miles and 62.5 miles.
