Ride For Roswell To Kick Off 11th Anniversary
Year To Help Put an End to Cancer
Volunteers hope to raise over $1 million on June 24
WHAT:
Individuals and teams cycling in the 11th Ride For Roswell, presented by the Roswell Park Alliance and Wegmans, will gather Tuesday evening to share stories of hope and announce plans and highlights for the June 24, 2006 event. This dynamic biking fundraiser has raised more than $3.3 million in its first 10 years for breakthrough research and compassionate patient care programs at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

KICKOFF ACTIVITIES & INTERVIEWS AVAILABLE:
- Survivors, team captains and other riders will share their inspirations for riding – including Bill Brown, Ann Johnson Fera (whose team raised $11, 000 last year), and Beth Bochiechio and Kathie Evens from “Michael’s Angels”—a team that has participated for 11 years now in memory of Michael Augustyn, whose life was cut short by pediatric cancer.
- Giant T- Shirt of Hope Display (featuring names of cancer patients who have inspired the Ride)
- Buffalo Sabres’ Alumnus and Broadcaster Rob Ray will speak
About the Ride For Roswell and the Roswell Park Alliance:
The Ride offers four scenic routes that travel throughout Northern Erie and Niagara Counties. For a minimum registration fee, riders can show their support as they ride for a cure and in honor of those touched by cancer, while enjoying fresh air, exercise and a fabulous post event party at the University of Buffalo’s Baird Point. The Roswell Park Alliance Community Advisory Board is a volunteer membership organization that raises funds year-round to support scientific and clinical research, state-of-the-art medical care, and patient-related activities at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
