Western New Yorkers Raise Over $800,000 at the 10th Ride For Roswell
Record 2,900 cyclists surpass 2004 results by $300,000
(BUFFALO, NY) – The 10th Ride For Roswell, presented by Wegmans on Saturday, June 25 at UB’s Baird Point, celebrated donations of over $800,000— the event’s highest-ever total, thanks to 2,900 cyclists, 200 teams and 500 volunteers from all across Western New York.
All the funds raised will support patient care and research programs at Roswell Park Cancer Institute to find cures and save lives.
The results marked a 60 percent increase over last year’s Ride, bringing the cumulative 10-year total raised to over $3.3 million since 1996.
“By riding a bike to help cancer research, our riders showed once again how we each can make a personal difference for Roswell Park and its patients,” said Mitch Flynn, the Roswell Park Alliance volunteer who founded the event and who served as its 2005 co-chair. “We are so thankful to every rider, volunteer and sponsor for supporting this event, and for the donations from so many individuals who helped make it the most successful Ride ever.”
