Buffalo, NY — Has walking under gray winter skies left you searching for a more inspiring fitness outlet? Roswell Park Cancer Institute is seeking adults ages 18 and older to participate in its Team Cure California Challenges, with training beginning in February.
All participants will receive customized fitness training to get ready for the event of their choice: the San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon (June 3, 2007) or the San Francisco Marathon, Half–Marathon or 5K (July 29, 2007). You can walk or run and no experience is required. Participants also take part in weekly group runs on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Challenge yourself for your New Year’s resolution, run or walk in honor of a loved one, or take on the experience as a cancer survivor. You’ll unite with thousands of people from across the country to share memories of a lifetime. Plus, participants will receive complimentary airfare, hotel, meals and more when they meet the minimum Team Cure fundraising goal. To date, 140 Team Cure participants have raised over $300,000 for Roswell Park through this dynamic alternative to traditional fundraising.
Details about both races will be covered at information sessions scheduled for Thursday, January 25 at the Jewish Community Center in Amherst; Monday, February 5 and Monday, February 12 in Roswell Park’s Research Studies Center, Elm & Carlton Streets, Buffalo; and Wednesday, February 7 at the Eastern Hills BAC. All information sessions will start at 6:00 pm. For more information please call 845-8788, or visit www.teamcure.com.
