Lake View Community to Run Buffalo Marathon in Honor of Late Student
More than 70 participants have raised over $28,000 for Roswell Park

WHAT: More than 70 staff , family members and other supporters from Pinehurst Elementary School in Lake View will run the Buffalo Marathon in honor of Janie Kashino, a late student of the school who lost her battle with cancer in 2008 at age six.
The group, under the name Team Fly High Janie, has raised more than $28,000 for Roswell Park Cancer Institute through the Team Cure Challenge program, surpassing their original goal of $26,200, or $1,000 for every mile of the marathon. Visit the team’s fundraising page to learn more.

7 am – 10 am: Dozens of Pinehurst supporters staffing water station
Pearl and West Mohawk Sts.
10 am – 12 pm: Post-race party

Team Cure Challenge provides training and support to athletes who raise funds in support of cancer research and patient care at Roswell Park.
