First-Time Marathon Participants To Return Triumphant After Raising $90,000 for Roswell Park at Disney Team Cure Challenge
WHAT:
A dedicated group of Western New Yorkers will come home tonight from Walt Disney World after completing the Roswell Park Team Cure Orlando Marathon Challenge, and raising $90,000 for lifesaving cancer research. Twenty-three individuals, mostly first-time runners and long-distance walkers, trained for three months with help from the Roswell Park program, in order to honor their loved ones who have bravely faced cancer and to make a difference for future cures. In addition to their training preparation, the participants each gathered donations and pledges through a variety of fundraising activities, before dashing through the Magic Kingdom this past weekend. Registration is now underway for Roswell’s next challenge event in San Francisco this July at TEAMCURE-DOT-COM.
