Rene F. Jones, executive vice president and chief financial officer of M&T Bank Corporation, has been named a trustee of the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation Board.

Mr. Jones is a certified public accountant who has served in executive positions with M&T Bank since 1992, and in his current role since 2005. He is actively involved in the community, and serves on the boards of Shea’s Performing Arts Center and Canisius High School. He is also a member of the executive advisory board of the University of Rochester’s Simon Graduate School of Business. Mr. Jones lives in Amherst with his wife Brigid Doherty and their two children.

Founded and headquartered in Western New York, M&T Bank has consistently demonstrated a commitment to supporting cancer research and patient care programs at Roswell Park. In 2007, Roswell Park's President Emeritus and Professor of Immunology Thomas B. Tomasi, MD, PhD, was named the first chairholder of the M&T Bank Endowed Chair in Cancer Research.

The Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, founded in 1991, is a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization formed to receive and administer funds supporting scientific and clinical research, state-of-the-art medical care, and patient-related activities at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
