Roswell Park Joins Other Renowned Cancer Centers in Imploring
Americans To Donate $1 To National "Infinite Power of One" Campaign
The Cancer Research Alliance, an organization comprised of 12 of the nation's best cancer centers, is asking all 303 million Americans to exercise their power over cancer by stepping up and donating $1 to cancer research efforts now through Father's Day. Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) is one of the 12 centers leading the charge through the new collaboration, and will share equally in funds raised by the national effort.
The campaign, dubbed the "Infinite Power of One™" campaign has two key goals: to activate Americans everywhere to join together and exercise their collective power over cancer; and to raise much needed dollars to accelerate innovative cancer research at the participating cancer centers.
The public can join the "Infinite Power of One™" campaign by visiting the campaign's sponsor, Celebrations.com, now through June 15th to donate. After donating, each person will be asked to add his or her own photo to the "Infinite Power of One" Healing Mosaic to celebrate the infinite power that one person and one dollar can make on our health.
The Cancer Research Alliance is comprised of 12 of the nation's best cancer centers. Each one is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center – the highest distinction bestowed by the NCI. Member institutions include:
- Roswell Park Cancer Center
- Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
- Fox Chase Cancer Center
- Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
- Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Iowa
- Arthur C. James Cancer Hospital & Richard Solove Research Institute, Ohio State University

"This is truly an exciting time for the Cancer Research Alliance," said Chairperson, Bridget Brennan. "By engaging all Americans in the Infinite Power of One™ campaign, we know we can galvanize the public to make change and celebrate the infinite power we have as a society to have a positive impact on our health. The CRA will use the funds generated from this campaign to accelerate research that is less invasive, more targeted, more personal and more powerful."
Cindy A. Eller, Vice President of Development for Roswell Park, explained that following the Infinite Power of One™ campaign, the new Cancer Research Alliance will focus on securing additional national cause-related marketing partnerships to support the fight against cancer.
"The CRA collaboration adds value to national corporations like celebrations.com that may seek a marketing presence in multiple cities for their charitable outreach efforts," said Eller. "It's an ideal addition to our own successful partnerships with local companies, as it has a multiplication effect for dollars raised for research."
