Families Will Love Kids Cook Event
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 27, 2003
Presented by Wegmans to Benefit
Carly's Club and Essential Care for Children
Help turn The Fieldhouse at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park into Western New York's largest family kitchen at the first ever "Kids Cook" event, presented by Wegmans, on Sunday, April 2 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm! This collaborative fundraiser for Carly's Club and the Essential Care for Children programs offers a magical night of food and fun in support of children facing life-threatening illnesses, and research to find cures.
Upon entrance to the event, kids of all ages will work with local chefs to create a delicious family style meal, while the adults enjoy a night away from the kitchen! Each chef will provide a different course while teaching the children fast, simple and delicious recipes that they can make at home. Local and national vendors will be on hand to show the latest in kitchen must-haves. The entire family will enjoy a family-style meal featuring menu items from Western New York companies and restaurants.
Kids Cook is sure to provide fun and memories, while benefiting deserving families across our community. Tickets are just $50 per family (two adults, two children), plus $10 for any additional children, or $20 for individual tickets, and are available by calling 716-845-8788, online at www.KidsCookWNY.com, at “That’s T.H.E. Ticket!” outlets at area Wegmans stores, and at the door that day.
Essential Care for Children is a pediatric home-care program that provides medical care and psychosocial and spiritual support to children diagnosed with serious illness, and their families. A program of The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Essential Care's team of professionals provides regular home visits to minimize hospital stays and emergency room visits.
Carly's Club for Kids & Cancer Research in WNY exists to offer support programs to make life more manageable for children diagnosed with cancer and their families, and to raise funds for pediatric cancer research seeking cures at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
This is the first collaborative effort for both organizations in raising funds for pediatric services in Western New York. Additional sponsors include Adelphia, Buffalo Credit Unions, Chef’s, News 4 WIVB-TV, WECK-AM, WJYE-FM and WYRK-FM.
