Denim and Diamonds Sparkles on Waterfront for Roswell Park
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 18, 2008
Community supporters of Roswell Park Cancer Institute are invited to step aboard the USS The Sullivans and the USS Little Rock for “Denim and Diamonds” on Friday, July 18, 2008 from 6 pm to 11 pm. This casually elegant event at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park is an opportunity to view Buffalo’s newly developed waterfront while supporting Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s patient care programs and helping to accelerate new cancer research.
Last year’s first-ever “Denim and Diamonds” raised more than $180,000. Organizers hope that this year’s event will be even more successful, with a goal of attracting up to 600 community members. Attendees will enjoy a cocktail hour, dancing under the stars and a silent auction for great prizes.
“Denim and Diamonds is an opportunity to celebrate summer while supporting the research and programs that are so crucial for thousands of cancer patients,” said Allison Gioia Flammer, event chair, and a volunteer with the Roswell Park Alliance Community Advisory Board. “We invite the community to join us as we enjoy our revitalized waterfront and contribute to this great cause.”
Tickets are $100 each and are available through www.roswellpark.org/giving or by calling (716) 845-8788.
