Castellani, Colvin Appointed to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation Board

BUFFALO, NY- Lawrence Castellani, senior executive of Freeman Spogli & Co., and Dorcas Colvin, associate vice president for policy and planning at Buffalo State College, have been elected to three-year terms on the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation Board of Trustees.
Mr. Castellani has had over 30 years’ experience in the retail industry. Since 1987, Mr. Castellani has been affiliated with Freeman Spogli & Co., an investment firm dedicated to ventures within the management and retail industries. He has served in several senior positions with Tops Friendly Markets, including CEO. In 2000, Mr. Castellani was hired by Freeman Spogli to serve as the CEO of Advance Auto Parts. He held this position until his retirement in 2005. He currently serves on the board of Advance Auto Parts, is a director of appliance and electronics company HH Gregg, and an affiliate of Freeman Spogli private equity group.
Ms. Colvin, who chaired Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s Corporate Compliance Committee while serving on its Board of Directors between 1998 and 2004, has over 28 years’ experience in higher education. She has served in such positions as executive assistant to the president at William Paterson University, associate vice president for human resource management at Buffalo State College and most recently as senior advisor to the president/associate vice president for policy and planning at Buffalo State College.
Her many community leadership activities have resulted in honors such as the 2007 Volunteer of the Year Award from the Erie County Commission on the Status of Women, the Leadership Award from the YWCA of Western New York and the Community Service Award from Women for Human Rights and Dignity.
The Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, founded in 1991, is a not-for-profit organization formed to receive and administer funds supporting scientific and clinical research, state-of-the-art medical care, and patient-related activities at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
