20th Annual Keith’s Classic Golf Tournament for Carly’s Club To Create "Legendary" Memories
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 2, 2007
Inspired by one boy’s courage, event returns to Legends on the Niagara, July 12
Buffalo, NY- Keith’s Classic Golf Tournament for Carly’s Club, presented by naming sponsor Sahlen’s, will take place on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Legends on the Niagara, along the scenic Niagara River Parkway, to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and compassionate patient care programs at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. More than 200 golfers will tee off in this 20th annual event to honor the memory of one special child, and to offer hope to other children and families currently facing cancer.
Held each year in memory of Keith Brewer, who succumbed to cancer at the tender age of six, Keith’s Classic has raised more than $2 million for cancer research initiatives over the span of two decades. The tournament originally established its strong roots at the River Oaks Golf Coarse, however, due to its overwhelming success and support from within and outside of the Grand Island community, the tournament was moved to the larger Legends on the Niagara venue three years ago.
There are course options available for golfers of all levels. For the practiced golfer, the Ussher’s Creek Course (1 pm shotgun start) challenges players at their peak levels. For the more casual player, the Battlefield Course (1 pm shotgun start) provides beautiful scenery and fun contests. Last, but not least, the Chippawa Course (1:15 start time) features nine short holes of golf for those who prefer a more relaxed approach to the game.
To make their experiences complete, all golfers will enjoy a fabulous barbeque prior to play; on-course contests; the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind silent auction gift items before dinner or fantastic live auction packages during dinner; and the opportunity to celebrate this “Legendary” tournament by wearing historic golf period costumes.
Corporate foursome and individual packages are now available for the July 12 event. To help patients and families served by Carly’s Club at Roswell Park Cancer Institute by participating in this unforgettable day, please contact Robin Hace at 716-845-4100 or visit www.carlysclub.org for tournament details and sponsorship forms.
